Kathi Nietfeld has a long and varied history in the department and currently serves faculty and students as the HLA Office Manager. She handles such a wide variety of tasks that it is difficult to list them all here! She is the primary administrative support for our department head, and keeps several of the important departmental committees on task with her organizational skills and thorough attention to detail. Kathi also acts as the program coordinator for our graduate students.
Deb Newman has graciously agreed to help out in the office during the fall 2016 semester while Danielle is away for a bit with her family. Deb has a background in horticulture.
In addition to greeting each visitor to the HLA office with a warm friendly smile and a seemingly endless amount of positive energy, Danielle is our Academic Support Coordinator. She plays a critical role in promoting undergraduate student success by working directly with students in our programs. In addition to this emerging role, she handles quite a bit of the everyday workflow in our office which amounts to everything from making sure we all have the supplies we need to organizing department events extraordinaire.
As the Director of Undergraduate Advising, Tracy serves as the key undergraduate student adviser for the department. She provides academic, career and extra-curricular advising and support to students, and enthusiastically facilitates faculty engagement with students. Working with students from before they enroll at CSU and until after they graduate, she builds life-long connections between students and the department. In addition, she maintains all records for the undergraduates, takes care of classroom scheduling and ordering textbooks, and maintains the department website.
As Accounting Operations Manager, Sarah oversees the Human Relations, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable daily operations for the Ag Business Center (ABC). She also is the fiscal officer for the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture . In this capacity, she provides financial management, purchases, reimbursements, journal entries, account reconciliations, report management, budget preparation and monitoring, and staffing account distributions.
