Ransom Beegles (B.S., Landscape Architecture, ‘03) is one of the principals of R Design Landscape Architecture with offices in Denver and New York. He started the firm with Ryan Manning (B.S., Landscape Architecture, ’03) in a unique manner. The owners of Gulley Greenhouse, both former CSU students, generously offered Ryan and Ransom financing to start a firm in 2003. Since that time, R Design has been featured on national television, in the New York Times, and in publications both regionally and nationally, as well as being the recipients of numerous design awards. Ransom has worked on notable collaborations with architects and engineers across the country and internationally in locations such as St. Lucia and Provence, France.
Ransom and his firm have dedicated their careers to creating a dialogue between architecture and the ethos of place. Instilling a sense of environmental preservation and a minimalist approach to design they have been trusted with opportunities featuring pristine environments and cutting-edge buildings. R Design is currently collaborating on numerous high-end residential projects across the country, a high profile plaza in Boulder, CO and several affordable housing projects in Park City, UT, Eugene, OR and Boulder, CO. Since the firm’s inception, R Design has completed over 200 built projects across the country and is the recipient of several design awards.
As a proud CSU alum, Ransom can attest to the background given to him from the professors in Landscape Architecture as catalytic in starting a firm with no experience. The skills and confidence taught at CSU have led Ransom to opportunities to work with noted designers such as Lake Flato, Thomas Phifer and Partners, Arch 11, Civitas and many others.
In his free time, Ransom dj’s deep house music at art galleries, sketches and likes to travel and camp.
